Aunt Virgie lived her later life in Kansas City, KS, until sometime during WWII when she became very ill and was moved by my father to a nursing home in Belvidere, IL where within a few months she died. By the time of the 1910 KS census Virgie was married to William C. Harris, born in Ohio, and a man 10 years older than Virgie. From an inscription in her French language prayer book now in my possession, Virgie in 1917 lived at 2110 N. 5th. st. Kansas City, KS.
In the 1910 KS census, Virgie, her husband William A, his mother, and Mathew O Canfield and his son Bertram were living together. Both Virgie's husband and Mathew Canfield must have passed away and Bertram gone to live by himself before 1920 since only Virgie is listed in 1920. What happened to Mary and the mother, Peter's wife, is not yet clear.
Virgie Harris is in 1920 MO soundex, (V80, ED140, S2, L50) listed as white, aged 56 and "living alone" in Bowling Green, MO.
